ING group to open service centre in Cluj-Napoca

The Dutch group ING will open a software development hub ING Tech in Cluj-Napoca, according to a company statement. For the time being, the company intends to hire a small group of experienced experts to set up the Cluj-Napoca office, and in the next period it will build up teams that will contribute to the development of global projects in areas such as data management or channels and digital platforms. A decade ago, ING Group closed down its service centre in the city. It currently provides services from its centre in Bucharest, backed by remote employees as well. “The software development hub of the ING group is preparing to enter the IT market in the northwest of the country, and in the next period will open the second office of the company, in the centre of Cluj-Napoca,” a Group’s statement reads. Involved in the development of the ING group’s strategic areas such as core banking, digital channels, banking products and data management, the technology hub is currently developing over 120 services to 24 ING entities and has reached 1,300 employees this year.
