Romania 2030 : AI, Talent , Competitiveness and the Future of Work

On 6 October 2026, in Cluj-Napoca, the Romania 2030 Executive Round Table: AI, Talent, Competitiveness and the Future of Work will bring together representatives of the business community, institutions and academia for a concrete and pragmatic discussion on how artificial intelligence and new technologies are transforming the business and employment landscape, and on how this transformation can be effectively managed through a practical approach focused on the challenges currently facing companies, institutions and universities.

The event is held under the institutional patronage of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, exercised by Ireland during the second half of 2026 and represented in Romania by H.E. Brendan Ward, Ambassador of Ireland, who will open the proceedings on behalf of the European Union. The event also enjoys the institutional patronage of the Prefecture of Cluj, the Cluj County Council and Cluj-Napoca City Hall. 

Why it matters: AI is redefining how experience is gained, how talent is developed and how organisations and countries stay competitive. This first Round Table also marks the start of an ongoing working group on AI, talent and the future of work, bringing together companies, universities and institutions for continued dialogue beyond the event itself.

The round table will feature a carefully curated programme with prestigious international and national speakers addressing the critical challenges of:
• The concrete impact of AI on the labour market and talent development
• Romania’s competitiveness in the European technological landscape
• The competencies and educational policies necessary for the future
• The role of universities in the digital transition
• Practical strategies for addressing present and future challenges
