METIGLA invests €6.2M in automation and new steel system launch

METIGLA, a producer of complete roofing and metal closure solutions, announces the completion of a €6.2 million investment in five production lines dedicated to gutter systems, already operational at its Ceptura factory, Prahova, Romania.

The project marks one of the most important industrial investments in the company’s history and supports its expansion strategy both on the local market and in Western Europe. With this launch, METIGLA becomes the first manufacturer in Romania to produce a complete rectangular steel rainwater system, manufactured entirely locally through a robotic production process.

The new production capacity includes five fully new lines dedicated to the METIGLA EDGE rectangular gutter system, covering the entire process—from gutters and downpipes to accessories and fastening elements. The lines were fully developed by the internal R&D team and are designed to process a premium type of steel.

The new lines have been integrated into the Ceptura industrial platform, which has continuously evolved and is now one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. With five production halls and two storage spaces totaling over 17,500 m², METIGLA locally produces a full portfolio of solutions: metal roofing tiles, standing seam sheets, thermal insulation panels, drainage systems, galvanized profiles, façade cassettes, and integrated photovoltaic roofing solutions.

In addition, around 60% of the factory’s energy consumption comes from photovoltaic sources, and the company aims to cover 100% of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2027.

The new production line operates at approximately 90% automation, from raw material to finished product, enabling high operational efficiency with up to 85% effective uptime during a working day.

“Through this investment, we have raised our production standards to a higher level, strengthening a competitive advantage built on proprietary automation, internal know-how, and the ability to develop products that cannot be easily replicated on the market,” said Olivier Somers, Group CEO of METIGLA.

The new METIGLA EDGE rainwater system introduces a rectangular profile adapted to modern architecture, along with a click-and-play installation mechanism.
