Development of renewable energy

New amendments were brought for the development of renewable energy projects located on lands with a maximum surface of 50 ha.

Through the change of Law 50/1991on the authorization of construction works brought by Law 21/2023, building permits are issued without PUZ for renewable energy projects located on extra-muros agricultural lands with a maximum surface area of 50 ha (to the extent that they are located on agricultural land of class III, IV and V quality, having the category of arable use, pasture, vineyards and orchards, as well as those developed with land improvement works).

Nonetheless, for large-scale projects (more than 50 ha), a solution is yet to be established.
