The Johann Strauss Festival will delight us through traditional waltzes and marches, and also by celebrating 140 years since the birth of the great composer George Enescu, jubilated in 2021 in Romania and around the world.
The Johann Strauss Festival will spread the splendor of Vienna in the heart of the Capital, encouraging us to support the culture, to love beauty, to live the music!
The Romanian Athenaeum, which not by chance appears as an emblematic monument of the Capital, was chosen as the location for the 18th edition of the Johann Strauss Festival.
Under the dome of the Romanian Athenaeum, the echo of the music of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra will be transformed into a space that is both elitist and fashionable.
For over 150 years, the Symphony Orchestra of the “George Enescu” Philharmonic has given the pulse of Romanian musical life. Any appearance of the orchestra means a show. The first instrumental ensemble of the Philharmonic is casual, mature, balanced, full of imagination, and with an artistic spirit alike professional and energetic, which makes room for the outings on the ramp of the members of the orchestra. Each bout is then displayed as a miniature replica of the unitary group and at the end, you can go home keeping in mind a memorable solo.
